New Calmail Feature

OHB's CalMail feature can now also send you a weekly email summarizing upcoming calendar entries for the next, say, 7 days. This is useful for ensuring you act early enough on, say, upcoming birthdays. For more, see www.2q11.com/calmail.

Justify Columns
Clicking CTRL-SHIFT-J in a plain-style (i.e. not color and graphics) 4-column sheets will now distribute the content evenly over all 4 columns. This is useful if you are in the habit of adding items to the left-most of the 4 columns, causing it to become much longer than the others which used to be a pain when printing sheets.

qMind now working with all sheets, not just myNotepad / qMind button in QuickStart Tray
qMind buttons can now be created for all 1-column and 4-column sheets. They can now also be placed in XP's QuickStart tray (the little icons to the right of the START button) or onto the desktop. Click qMind in "more functions" for more information.

AutoText
AutoText is a powerful tool that allows typing common phrases or commands quickly by using short, substitute key phrases. One can associate any kind of replacement text with such key phrases. Each time a sheet is saved, the AutoText engine will look for the key phrases you have defined and perform the replacements accordingly. Select "AutoText" under "more functions".
Searching via Email, Adding and Retrieving from Calendar via email There are new functions to add or retrieve information from a calendar sheet via email. You can now also search your OHB account via email. This is especially interesting for people who use mobile devices like the Blackberry or TREO 600. qMind button improvement
The qMind button (for quickly creating reminders and notes through a button located in your browser's toolbar; it's one of the OHB features I personally use most) has been improved so that the confirmation message after using it is now displayed inside a little pop-up window instead of by replacing the currently displayed Web page. This has the advantage that using the button will not replace the currently displayed Web page anymore. To upgrade your qMind button, please follow these steps:
- Delete your current qMind button from your browser's toolbar
- Got to http://www.onlinehomebase.com/remindlink.cgi to install the new version.

Email images to your sheet (nice for camera cellphone owners) When you email images files to a sheet (gif or jpg) you can now make it so they will be displayed as images instead of being shown as links. Select "Display emailed images" in "sheet properties" under "more functions". The sheet has to be in "color and graphics" mode to display images. This is useful if you'd like to easily attach images to a sheet, for instance, when using a sheet for keeping a journal. It's also handy if you have a camera cell phone that can email images.

Hide OHB header and footer when publishing your sheet You can now make it so that when people access a sheet of yours via a published Web address (see "publish" under "more functions"), the OnlineHomeBase.com header and footer will be completely hidden. This is practical if it's important to you to have no other branding on that published sheet. To hide the header and footer, simply check the "Hide OHB header / footer in public view" option under "sheet properties" in "more functions".

Email2OHB
The email2OHB feature has been improved: if an email is sent to username.sheetname@onlinehomebase.com and if username's account does not contain a sheet by the name of "sheetname", then the email's content will instead be appended to the "my Notepad" sheet by default. Until now the email was simply ignored in such cases. This improvement prevents content from not being saved in case of a typo.

Interface Changes
Some changes that clean up the interface: The Share / Collaborate button has been abolished. Its functions can still be invoked via "Collaborate" under "more functions". Go to the same place for notifying others who have imported a sheet of changes in it (this function used to be accessed via the "Notify" button).

Easier Collaboration
You can now associate a list of email addresses with a personalized url that you have set up for a sheet. Use the publish feature under more functions for this. When people access the sheet using the personalized url (for instance, a url like www.onlinehb.com/example_sheet), and if you have set up an email list, then the sheet will include button labeled "SAVE & NOTIFY". Clicking that button brings up an email interface for sending a message to the indivudals contained in the email list set up by the sheet owner. This provides, essentially, a way of collaborating with others by just sending them a customized url and not requiring them to set up their own OHB account. It's a quicker and dirtier collaboration scheme. Your comments are welcome.

hide header section of a sheet
You can now press CTRL-SHIFT-H ("hide") to hide the header section of a sheet. This is convenient for printing, when you don't want to print out the OHB logo and all the other information contained inside the header. Pressing CTRL-SHIFT-H again restores the header section.

As you know, you can add an email's content to a sheet by sending the mail to username.sheetname@onlinehomebase.com. And if you send the email simply to username@onlinehomebase.com, the content will be added to your "my Notepad" sheet by default. NEW: you can now also use the shorter "1q11.com" or "onlinehb.com" instead of "onlinehomebase.com" in those email addresses.

Security Improvement
The NOTE feature (for quickly dropping a note into your OHB account while at another computer) can now be used with an alternate password. This alternate password can be set up under "advanced" in "more functions". It only works with the note feature and cannot be used to log into your OnlineHomeBase.com account. This protects you in case the computer you are using logs users' key strokes to steal usernames and passwords. If your alternate password got stolen this way, the thief would only be able to add information to your myNotepad sheet, but not be able to log into your OHB account and view / change information. For more about the Note feature and the use of the alternate password with it, select "Note" under "more functions".

A bug has been fixed that caused an abbreviated entry like "7/1" in the calendar's GO field to be misinterpreted if the date was in the following year. Now such an entry would jump the calendar, in the example above, to the nearest July 1. This is convenient for jumping forward to specific dates without having to enter a full date expression like "07/01/04". "7/1" will do.

Email2OHB gateway
As you know, you can add an email's content to a sheet by sending the mail to username.sheetname@onlinehomebase.com. NEW: If you send the email simply to username@onlinehomebase.com, the content will be added to your "my Notepad" sheet by default. Some users who registered in the early days of OHB don't have a my Notepad sheet but a "my ToDos" sheet. For those, the content will be added to the my ToDos sheet by default.

Auto-logout
After logging in, OHB now offers an option to limit the session to one hour. This is useful when you want to make sure you don't stay accidentally logged in when accessing OHB from a public computer.

Hide Partners / Sheet Properties
Added a "sheet properties" menu item under "more functions". To be used to change various properties associated with the currently displayed sheet. Currently there's only one such property: "Hide Partners". This option ensures that a user who views a sheet via sharing does not see a list of all other users who share the sheet as well.

Security Improvement
When displaying or creating an encrypted sheet, OHB will now automatically switch to a secure https browser connection (indicated by a little padlock icon in the browser's status bar). This will ensure that a sheet's information will also be encrypted on its way from your PC to the OHB server.
